Scratch workshop
Have you always wondered what exactly a DJ is doing behind his turntables? Have you ever played with your father’s record player like Grandmaster Flash? Larry Tmik invites you to discover scratching and djing in one night only. Passionate about rhythms and percussion while being influenced by various artists, Larry will initiate you to mixing and different turntablism techniques applied to hip hop and bass music.
As a DJ and drummer-percussionist, Larry Tmik is fascinated by the work of Led Zeppelin, Miles Davis and the groove of James Brown. Influenced by multiple jazz and funk artists, he swapped his drumsticks for turntables, producing electronic mixes (bass music, hip hop, etc.) enriched by turntablism culture (scratch, beat-juggling, pad-drumming).
This workshop is organized in collaboration with the association Boumchaka as a part of the Freeeeze Festival which will take place at the Rockhal and Rocklab (Music & Resources Rockhal) on 29 January 2016.
At the Lobby of the Rockhal
Friday , 29 January
