Hip-hop dance workshop
WorkshopPassionate defenders of hip hop culture since 10 years, the Balatom team, a collective of hip hop dancers which was founded in 2005, expresses its love for this culture through dancing. The members of the crew, who have gained quite a reputation through a lot of shows, performances and contests, use a large array of styles in order to create a unique show full of creativity. Now they are coming to Rocklab (Music & Resources Rockhal), where they will share their “best” moves and will give a lot of useful tips on how to get ready for the dance floor. The main objective of the collective is to transmit the techniques used for different urban dance genres while spreading the values linked to that specific sub culture and organizing workshops and classes in all kind of locations.
John, founding member of the collective, is a B boy (breakdancer) who has gained experience during numerous local, national and international battles since 1999. He quickly developed an interest in other hip hop related dance genres, like locking, popping, house dance and new jack swing, too. Besides insisting on the importance of music, John also focuses on the transmission of energy and sensations based on movements during his workshops.
This particular workshop is organized in collaboration with the association Boumchaka as a part of the Freeeeze Festival which will take place at the Rockhal and Rocklab (Music & Resources Rockhal) on 29 January 2016.
