Vocal Basics (vocal technique workshop for rock, pop, jazz...) -SOLD OUT-


(Prequel to Vocal Practice)


Have you always wanted to learn the basic vocal fundamentals? Or do you just want to know the tools that help you develop your full vocal potential? From posture to breathing exercises and vocal technique to musical games, "Vocal Basics"  will help you properly use your voice as a singer, greatly enhance your vocal skills and explore the world of your vocal possibilities.




Physical and vocal warm-up exercises: posture, breathing, relaxation, vocal warm-up


“Vocal Basics” Toolbox: basic functioning of the voice box; voice training through practical exercises; diction and articulation; learning how to develop a healthy way of singing and replace bad singing habits with good ones; getting comfortable with the voice and the role as a singer through practical work on solo songs; gaining the know-how of how to work on a song and its difficulties.


The workshop is hosted by Claire Parsons.


Practical info

When & Where: Mondays from 19h30 to 21h30, starting on 15th of January 2018 for 10 hands-on sessions at Rocklab. 


Skill level: Beginner, intermediate and advanced! (from 15 years onwards)


Price: 120.- for ten sessions

About Claire Parsons:


Claire Parsons is a luxembourgish jazz singer of English origin. She started playing the classical piano at the age of 5 in the Conservatory of Luxembourg. Later she studied other instruments such as classical and electric guitar, jazz piano and classical vocals.

Her interest in jazz came up in 2008 in the Conservatory of Luxembourg and later in the music school of Echternach.
 She got her bachelors degree in jazz vocals at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels under the supervision of the internationally renowned Belgian jazz singer David Linx. She plays and composes in various bands such as Claire Parsons Quartet, Tadpole Evolution, Aishinka or Them Lights to name but a few.


Her young career allowed her to play on multiple international and national stages and festivals such as Jazz à Verviers, Brussels Jazz Marathon, Festival Zikametz in Metz, Dockville Festival in Hamburg, Rock Um Knuedler, Food For Your Senses Fesival and Sonic Visions amongst others.
